Connections

Mitra MCP

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Muse, and other AI apps to your Mitra assistants. Same assistants, memory, and settings.

What MCP can access

Mitra MCP connects as the individual Mitra user who signs in through the browser. Your AI app can list your assistants, send a message to one, and check the result of a request or call on your account.

Messages go through your existing Mitra assistant, with its memory, connected accounts, settings, and approval requirements. The AI app receives the results Mitra returns; it does not get direct browsing access to your contacts, memory, or connected accounts.

Your normal Mitra plan or free trial applies. To place calls, complete calling setup in the Mitra app. Requests that require approval wait for you in Mitra.

Setup guide

Before you start

  • A Mitra account with an active plan or free trial. Sign up in the Mitra app first.
  • To place calls, finish calling setup in the Mitra app.
  • Claude and ChatGPT may require a paid plan of theirs to add connectors.

One URL. Your same Mitra.

Connect your AI app

Add Mitra as a connector, then sign in with the Apple, Google, or phone login you use in the Mitra app. No API key or client ID needed.

Server URL
https://mcp.getmitra.com/mcp
  1. Open Settings → Connectors in Claude and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Mitra and paste the server URL above.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to your Mitra account, and approve access.
  4. Enable Mitra in your chat’s tools menu. Ask “Which Mitra assistants do I have?”

Check your connection

  1. Ask “Which Mitra assistants do I have?” Your AI app should return the assistants on the account you connected.
  2. Try a read-only request, such as “Who called me today?” If you have no call history yet, that is expected.
  3. For a specific assistant, ask “Ask Avery to check my calendar for tomorrow.” Use an assistant name from your own list.
  4. When you’re ready to try a call, check your Making calls setting in Mitra first. If set to Ask each time, approve the Call button in the Mitra app.

Tools and descriptions

Your AI app chooses these tools from your request. You can ask in plain language.
ToolWhat it doesExample prompt
list_assistantsLists your assistants, their IDs and names, and which one is your main assistant. Takes no inputs.“Which Mitra assistants do I have?”
message_assistantSends a message to your main assistant, or an assistant selected by name or ID. Returns a reply, or a request ID if work is still in progress. May perform actions under your Mitra settings.“Call Sarah and confirm Friday at 3.”
check_statusAccepts a request ID or call ID. Returns the request status and reply, or a call’s status, summary, and transcript when available.“How did that call go?”

For client builders: message_assistant accepts message and an optional assistant. check_status accepts id. The server uses Streamable HTTP and browser OAuth with discovery; there is no API-key setup.

What you can ask

  • “Who called me today?”
  • “What did Sarah say about the listing?”
  • “Show me the transcript from my last call with the dentist.”
  • “Call Sarah and confirm Friday at 3.”
  • “How did that call go?”
  • “Ask Avery to check my calendar for tomorrow.”

You can name any of your assistants. Otherwise, your message goes to your main Mitra.

Calls and longer requests

If a reply is not ready yet, Mitra returns a request ID. Your AI app can use check_status to retrieve the result later. Calls may also return a call ID for checking their progress, summary, and transcript.

Closing the external chat does not cancel an active call. Ask for its status later. Avoid sending the call request again just because it is taking time: check the existing request or call first.

On Always, Mitra calls when asked. On Ask each time, the Call button waits in the Mitra app; saying “yes” in the external chat does not approve it. On Never, calling is off.

Troubleshooting guide

Sign-in loops or fails

Remove the connector and add it again using the server URL above. Complete sign-in in the browser with your usual Mitra login, then return to your AI app.

“Calling isn’t set up”

Open the Mitra app, finish calling setup, then try again.

Connector shows no tools

Check that Mitra is enabled for the chat. Disconnect and reconnect it, complete browser sign-in, then ask to list your assistants. Custom clients must support Streamable HTTP and OAuth discovery.

“Mitra needs an active plan or free trial”

Open the Mitra app to start one.

Too many messages

Mitra currently limits new MCP message requests to 30 per account in 10 minutes. Wait before sending another message. Use check_status for an existing request rather than resending it. Limits may change.

A call is waiting for approval

Open Mitra and tap the Call button. A reply in Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI app does not approve the call.

Wrong account or missing history

Remove the connector, reconnect, and sign in to the intended Mitra account. Requests and call IDs must belong to that account.

A request’s outcome is unknown

Check the Mitra app and call history before trying again. An interrupted request may have already started an action; resending could create another one.

Still need help? Contact support. Include your AI app, the error message, and when it happened. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or private call content.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the same email in Mitra and my AI app?

No. Sign in during setup with the Mitra account you want to use. Your AI app account can be different. Use the same sign-in method you normally use in Mitra.

Can I choose which assistant responds?

Yes. Ask to list your Mitra assistants, then name the assistant in your request. If you don’t choose one, your message goes to your main Mitra. If names are duplicated, use the assistant ID returned by list_assistants.

Why can’t Mitra find a call or assistant?

The connection uses the Mitra account you signed in with. It cannot access another user’s assistants or calls. Check that you connected the correct account, and use a request or call ID returned by Mitra.

Where are messages from other AI apps stored?

Your requests and Mitra’s replies are saved in your assistant’s conversation and used for memory and context. They are hidden from the Mitra chat view. Calls still appear in call history.

Does Mitra call people without asking me?

Mitra follows your Making calls setting in the app. On Always, it calls when you ask. On Ask each time, a Call button appears in the Mitra app and nothing happens until you tap it. Saying “yes” in Claude or ChatGPT doesn’t approve a call. On Never, Mitra won’t call.

What can the AI app see?

Only the answers Mitra sends back to your requests. It can’t browse your memory, contacts, or connected accounts on its own.

Will these chats show up in the Mitra app?

No. Mitra remembers what you asked from other apps, but those messages don’t appear in your Mitra chat. Calls Mitra makes show up in your call history as usual.

What if I close the chat during a call?

The call keeps going. Ask “How did that call go?” later, in any chat.

Does it cost extra?

No. Your normal Mitra plan or free trial applies.

How do I disconnect?

Remove Mitra in that AI app’s connector settings. Signing out of all devices in Mitra also disconnects it.
