Troubleshooting

Missing messages or context

Find out why a conversation or connected message may be missing, and what to check first.

Which messages are missing?

Start by identifying where the conversation happened: in Mitra, in a connected messaging service, or through an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT.

Check the account and connection

  1. Use the same sign-in method and account you normally use in Mitra.
  2. Open the intended assistant’s conversation. A different assistant may not have the same conversation context.
  3. For connected messages, confirm the message exists in the original app and check Settings → Connectors in Mitra for a sign-in or permission prompt.
  4. If a desktop device provides the connection, keep that device online with Mitra open. Follow any permission or reconnect prompt shown by the app.

For more checks, see A connection stopped updating.

When Mitra is missing context

If Mitra can’t recall a detail, provide a short recap in the intended assistant’s conversation and ask a specific question. A missing answer doesn’t by itself prove that the original message was deleted.

A service-side synchronization problem can also prevent recent context from being available. Repeatedly reconnecting won’t necessarily resolve it.

When to contact support

If messages remain missing after these checks, contact support. Include the device, connected service, approximate message time and time zone, and whether the message appears in the original app. Describe the issue without copying the private conversation.
